Albums

The discography of the American rock group Toto includes 13 studio albums, 4 live albums, and a number of compilations. In addition to the release of original music, Toto has also done work with other artists and on soundtracks for films. The band has received multiple Grammy Awards.

Before Toto was formed, members of the band did sessions for other musicians. David Paich, the son of session drummer Marty Paich, and Jeff Porcaro (the brother of guitarist Joe Porcaro and drummer Jeff Porcaro) all played on Boz Scaggsalbum in 1975 Silk Degrees. Toto was formed in the year 1976 as a result of the collaboration.

The third album of Toto, Turn Back, marked a change from the more progressive sound of their earlier albums and was criticized for the lack of hit singles. In 1985 the group's singer Fergie Fredericksen resigned The band held auditions to find a new frontman. Guitarist Steve Lukather was chosen, and the band recorded the 1986 album Fahrenheit.

In 1998, Toto celebrated its 20th anniversary by re-discovering demos and tapes from the past to release a special record called Toto XX. The album was well-received by fans and Toto began the tour with former members Bobby Kimball Steve Porcaro and Joseph Williams.

In the course of the tour for the album 40 Trips Around the Sun The drummer Leland Sklar departed from the group and was replaced by Shem von Schroeck. In the year 2017, Toto released the double-CD set Falling in Between. It included tour recordings and also an interview with the group.

Toto is a rock band from the US that was formed in Van Nuys in Greater Los Angeles in 1977. The group is comprised of six members: vocalist/guitarist Steve Lukather, bassist David Paich, keyboardist/vocalist Steve Porcaro, drummer Jeff Porcaro, and guitarist/vocalist Joseph Williams. The group's diverse mix of influences has made them one of the most listened-to bands ever. The music of the group was featured in more than 200 films and television shows, including The Godfather & The Prince of Egypt.



In 1983 the band released Toto IV, which earned an international recognition. The band began an international tour to promote the album following its success. During the tour, lead singer Bobby Kimball was arrested on drug charges. At the conclusion of the tour, the band decided to let him go, and they hired singer/guitarist Joseph Williams to take his place. Drummer David Hungate also left the group after the tour. Leland Sklar took over his place.

The TOTO Museum is a futuristic building that has several exhibit rooms devoted to telling the story of the company and its most innovative products. Its exhibits include toilets faucets, and tableware that have contributed to the growth of the TOTO brand over the last half century. The museum also has special exhibits throughout the year.

Toto has released a variety of music videos. The band has released a number of compilation videos and DVDs. The most watched video by the band is "Africa" that has over one billion views on YouTube. The video is set in a library where the band performs on top of the stack of African books.

The track "Africa", from the album Toto IV, was written by the members of the band and produced by David Paich. The song was written by band members and produced David Paich. It was a huge success in Europe and a variety of other countries. The success of the single helped Toto get back into the limelight after their previous album, Turn Back, failed to chart in the United States.

Toto embarked on a world tour following the release of their album. The group included touring musicians Lenny Castro and Shannon Forrest. Warren Ham, Shem von Schröeck and Shem von Schroeck were also in the group. In addition, guitarist Steve Lukather released his second solo album, Luke.

In 1985 In 1985, drummer Fergie Frederiksen quit Toto due to personal reasons. Toto decided to hold an audition, and eventually selected Joseph Williams to replace Frederiksen.

Prior to and during the creation of Toto its members, they did sessions for many artists. Toto was founded after Jeff Porcaro, bassist David Hungate and Boz Scaggs recorded Silk Degrees. Paich played keyboards on Steely Dan records, Seals and Crofts and Sonny and Cher.

In 1998, Toto began working on a special project called Old Is New. The album featured three brand new tracks, as well as a number of finished recordings of older songs. The album was a worldwide success and the band embarked on a tour to promote the album.

Toto, known for the hit song "Africa", recently joined forces to promote their upcoming album, All In. The album debuted on November 6, 2018 and featured three new songs from the forthcoming 40 Trips Around the Sun, as well as completed recordings of four older tracks with Jeff Porcaro on drums and either Mike or Steve Porcaro on bass. The album also featured a cover of Weezer's song "Hash Pipe" that the band decided to add after hearing the song on the radio.

The group has recorded soundtracks for a number of television and film series.

The band became one of the most listened-to rock groups in the world and has sold over 40 million albums.
